Artwork for Iggy Pop’s album “Free” includes a sleeve and four film clips. The clips were all shot over one day at the infamous “Sweat Records” store in Miami with Cameraman and DoP Rob Baker Ashton
Pre planned at our studio in London, lighting set ups and equipment were tested in advance so that the shoot day itself could accommodate all four films with minimum takes. We used in-camera techniques including fishing wire light-refraction, rotating mirror prisms and swing tilt lenses to create a series of individual optical moods for each film.
The record sleeve image was selected by Iggy, a still from “The Dawn” by French director NP Novak.
